About Lixin
Having won every major competition in his native New Zealand, pianist Lixin Zhang received the Silver Medal and Second Prize at the 2021 Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition. At the age of sixteen, RATTLE Records released his debut album, PLAY which topped the NZ classical charts for five weeks. He has since played actively with orchestras and in recitals internationally.
Lixin is a graduate student at the Yale School of Music in New Haven where he studies with Boris Berman. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Colburn Conservatory of music. Previously, his teachers were Michael Endres and Neville Baird.
